As a Training Manager in Supply Chain & Home Delivery, you'll play a pivotal role in developing colleague capability across the network. Working within the Skills Development Team, you'll lead a team of around seven Technical Trainers to deliver hands on induction, technical and compliance training for hundreds of new and existing delivery and installation colleagues each year.
You'll support training delivery across our four main academies in Bristol, Bolton, Newark-on-Trent and Tilbury, along with our smaller satellite training setups in Ireland and Glasgow.
You'll also partner closely with operational and technical stakeholders to create learning solutions that support service growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance and colleague engagement.
This is a role where you'll work from home and travel regularly to our training academies. You'll have autonomy to structure your own schedule and drive meaningful impact across the function.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
Leadership & Delivery
Leading, coaching and developing a team of Technical Trainers, ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across all academies.
Maintaining training facilities and equipment, ensuring they meet technical and safety standards.
Working closely with the Technical Academy Manager to implement the wider learning strategy alongside the wider skills development team.
Learning Design & Development
Designing and developing training plans that align with business strategy, operational needs and people plans.
Leading learning programmes supporting technical, compliance and manufacturer led training.
Stakeholder Partnership
Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across Supply Chain and Home Delivery, consulting with operational leaders to understand current capability levels and future requirements, identifying skills gaps, risks and training needs.
Measuring Impact
Evaluating the effectiveness of training solutions, demonstrating return on investment and impact on performance.
Monitoring progress against objectives, using insight and data to identify improvement opportunities.
You will need:
Proven experience in a Training Manager, Learning Manager or similar capability role.
Demonstrable experience designing and implementing training plans with measurable outcomes.
Strong team leadership and people development experience.
Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
Strong organisational and project management capability.
A collaborative approach with excellent stakeholder relationship skills.
Genuine passion for learning, development and colleague capability.
CIPD Level 5 in Organisational Learning & Development, or equivalent experience. (Candidates without formal qualification must show equivalent experience or willingness to work towards Level 5.)
Experience in Supply Chain, Home Delivery or Logistics would be advantageous.
