Biomedical Field Service Technicians

The Role
This is a field-based engineering position responsible for the installation, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis and repair of a wide range of medical and veterinary equipment.
The role will predominantly involve working within:
* Veterinary practices and referral hospitals
* Diagnostic laboratories
* Private healthcare facilities and hospitals
You will represent Certus Biomedical on site, delivering a professional, customer-focused service and ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out
planned preventive maintenance (PPM)
and safety inspections
* Diagnose and repair faults on a range of medical and veterinary equipment
* Install, commission and decommission equipment
* Perform electrical safety testing and calibration where required
* Complete accurate service documentation and compliance records
* Provide technical support and advice to customers
* Manage parts usage and maintain van stock levels
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant standards, manufacturer guidance and company procedures
* Maintain strong customer relationships and represent the Certus brand professionally
Equipment You May Work On
* Anaesthetic machines and patient monitoring systems
* Infusion devices and fluid management equipment
* Dental and surgical equipment
* Autoclaves and sterilisation equipment
* Laboratory and diagnostic equipment
* Examination and operating tables, lighting and ancillary equipment
(Experience across multiple device types is advantageous, but training will be provided.)
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
* Proven experience servicing and repairing
medical devices
(hospital, laboratory or veterinary)
* Relevant technical qualification (Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent)
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Good IT skills and ability to complete digital service reports
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Desirable
* Experience working in veterinary environments
* Manufacturer training or certification
* Knowledge of relevant standards and compliance requirements (e.g. electrical safety testing, medical device regulations)
