Theatre Bookings Co‑ordinatorYork Hospital – Administration – Permanent – Full Time – £12.84 per hour, 25.5 hours per week. At Nuffield Health, the UK’s largest healthcare charity, you will be responsible for administering a large volume of email requests from referral to appointment, ensuring the hospital meets service deliverables while exceeding customer expectations.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level2 in Business and Administration or equivalent.
* Experience working in a customer‑facing environment.
* Excellent communication skills and a sympathetic, reassuring manner.
* Ability to prioritise work and maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
* Patient registration ensuring accurate data input.
* Make theatre bookings and pre‑assessment appointments.
* Deal with telephone enquiries from patients, medical secretaries and consultants.
* Ensure theatre allocation, utilisation and bed management are accurately recorded alongside NHS contract management.
* Bring empathy, sympathy and sensitivity to the role.
* Ensure complex administration and support meets required standards and timescales.
* Attention to detail, ensuring all data/information is accurate using the appropriate system and format.
* Prepare standard and ad‑hoc reports as required by the department.
* Handle appointment bookings and changes.
* Coordinate availability of rooms and consultants.
* Create, alter or cancel clinics as required to support business needs.
