Would you like to develop and enhance your career? Ward 6, Supported Discharge Unit, is recruiting Band 3 Health Care Support Workers (HCSW).
You will support the nursing team by performing a range of clinical tasks, direct patient care, and administrative duties. You will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality, seamless, equitable, and accessible care to patients and their families, ensuring prompt investigations as per protocol to support patient management by medical and nursing staff.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality. An active interest in working within an acute hospital setting and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are required. A minimum of two years' experience in an acute hospital setting is necessary. You will participate in training and work independently without direct supervision from a registered nurse.
Our HCSWs collaborate closely with Nursing and Discharge Teams to organize and execute patient discharges. Successful candidates should be able to manage patient discharges independently. While training in all Band 3 clinical skills (vital signs, venipuncture, cannulation, catheterization) is desirable, training will be provided if needed. A good working knowledge of IT systems is also required.
This is a rotation post covering days, nights, and weekends to support nursing staff and patient needs.
For further details, please contact Senior Charge Nurse Lisa Herd or Charge Nurse Louise Torrie at 01592 643355 ext 28648.
The salary is pro-rata for part-time hours. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the PVG Scheme prior to appointment.
