HGV Technician – VMU Harlow
Various shifts - dayshifts & nightshifts available.
Salary starting from: £51k for day shifts and £65k for nightshifts.
Are you a Qualified HGV Technician based near Harlow? Then we have a role for you!
We're looking for a skilled professional to join our dedicated team at our customer's site in Harlow (CM19) to work day shifts Monday to Friday.
You will be responsible for maintaining fleets of trucks & trailers for our customers on their sites, with a “right first time” approach, valuing quality work and long-term solutions over quick fixes that could cause our customers more downtime in the long run.
The Job
* Supporting customers at their sites by maintaining and repairing fleets of trucks & trailers in accordance with current legislation.
* Fault-finding and diagnostics.
* Completing inspections on engines and electrical components and rectifying problems within specific timeframes.
* Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to both new and used trucks & trailers.
* Working on large double deck trailers (double deck experience is required)
Essential Skills & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent);
* Knowledge and experience of servicing and maintaining HGVs and other commercial vehicles and the ability to perform repairs on various types and brands of vehicle;
* Experience in carrying out diagnostic repairs and fault finding;
* Excellent communication and customer service skills

Overtime
We operate 24/7 at many of our customers sites, meaning there is overtime opportunities available. This site will require weekend overtime – we will discuss the specific requirements of each role with you during the interview process. We reward our Technicians for supporting us to support our customers by offering payment uplift.
* 1.5x base rate for any work on Saturdays
* 2x base rate for Sundays and/or Bank Holiday (Plus a day back in lieu for working a BH)
