Overview
Job summary: An exciting opportunity to work as a Macmillan Lead Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist. You will lead a team of CNSs and a band 4 cancer support worker within the team, working closely with a lung cancer consultant. You will lead change and service development projects and have managerial responsibilities. The Lung cancer CNS Team covers a broad lung cancer pathway, providing advice, social and emotional support and information to patients and their loved ones throughout their pathway. The team supports patients from diagnosis, through treatment options, and living with and beyond cancer.
Responsibilities
* The Lead/Team Lead CNS will provide clinical leadership, service management and line management to the CNS team/service.
* The Lead/Team Lead CNS will deliver expert clinical care at an enhanced level and support band 6 and 7 CNSs within their practice.
* A CNS is a registered nurse with post-registration education for working at an enhanced level within a specific area of practice, assessing, managing, delivering care, advising on and supporting patients.
* Perform the specialist role in Lead Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist and provide expert clinical supervision and leadership to the CNS team.
* Operationally manage the service and staff, and contribute to pathway management of lung cancer patients at Imperial.
* Work within the Lung Cancer CNS team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, as part of the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team and advocate for patients.

Requirements
Education and qualifications
* NMC Registration
* Post-registration qualification in a specialty or relevant subject at level 7 (cancer care)
* Recognised teaching qualification and advanced communication skills
* Leadership and management course
* MSc or MA in related specialty

* Advanced physical assessment and clinical reasoning qualification
