The service works closely with commissioning, finance, brokerage, providers, and partner organisations to ensure contracts are well‑managed, risks are identified early, and services deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes for people who use adult social care services. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of adult social care contracts, acting as the main point of contact for providers and supporting effective mobilisation, monitoring, and performance management throughout the contract lifecycle. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure contractual, financial, and quality requirements are met, addressing issues promptly and supporting providers to improve where standards fall short. The role has a direct impact on service quality, financial assurance, and organisational resilience. By maintaining strong provider relationships, supporting compliance and improvement activity, and contributing to risk management and market stability, the Contract and Account Manager helps the Council meet its statutory duties, achieve value for money, and protect continuity of care for adults across Cambridgeshire. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.About youYou will have experience working in contract management, commissioning, procurement, market management, or a related commercial or service delivery environment, with an understanding of how effective contract oversight supports quality, risk management, and value for money.You are confident working with providers and internal colleagues to manage performance, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement.You bring strong analytical and organisational skills, enabling you to review performance information, interpret data, and identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.You are comfortable working within governance and compliance frameworks, with a clear understanding of the importance of transparency, auditability, and accurate record‑keeping.
