New Directions Education is currently recruiting reliable and hardworking School Caretakers/Cleaners to work on a flexible supply basis across schools in the Flintshire area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work that fits around other commitments while supporting local schools. A full UK driving licence and access to transport would be preferable, as assignments may be across multiple school locations and travel between sites may be required.
Job Specification
Caretakers are responsible for looking after a school site including the buildings and grounds.
The duties of a school Caretaker include:
1. General maintenance and minor repairs
2. Liaising with contractors
3. Managing heating and alarm systems
4. Security
5. Opening and closing the school
6. Basic cleaning
7. Key holding.
Caretakers must be honest, reliable and trustworthy. They must be able to work well on their own using their own initiative, as well as working within a larger team.
Candidates will ideally have previous caretaking experience; however New Directions will consider candidates who have a background in maintenance, decorating, facilities or security.
It’s mandatory that caretakers have a clear DBS either registered with the Update Service or a New Directions DBS.
