What's involved with this role: Interim Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Reference no: SCC (HQ) SCC17681 Pay Rate: £24.62 per hour PAYE 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: IPSWICH DBS disclosure required Act as a catalyst for change working directly alongside children, young people, and their families. Key Responsibilities Work with a specialist team of Social Workers and Practitioners to deliver a high-quality service to Suffolk Foster carers Providing statutory supervision and support to foster carers Facilitate support groups and learning opportunities for foster carers Receive regular reflective supervision and peer group supervision Contribute creative and innovative ideas to improve practice in a well established and supportive team. Work closely with the Therapeutic team to promote trauma informed care and attachment training, alongside our Therapeutic social workers and our Clinicians to support children and carers in their placements. Work in partnership with the Placements team to match and place children needing foster placements and ensuring maximum use of in-house foster care placements. Work alongside childcare professionals to support children in their foster placements with regular communication and attendance at meetings. Undertake annual reviews and all statutory checks on fostering households within expected timescales – (required by Fostering Standards Regulations and guidance) Providing good quality, thorough and analytical recording and reports. Skills & Abilities: Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to make constructive contribution to meetings and negotiate with a range of stakeholders, settings and contexts. Ability to keep accurate and timely records and compile reports in a variety of formats, using appropriate IT. Ability to recognise and act on Child Protection and risk issues and escalate as appropriate. Ability to use initiative within boundaries of the role. Ability to use a range of assessment frameworks Ability to effectively apply solution focused approaches to deliver successful outcomes.
