DBS Chefs for nurseries and care homesEnvironments: Nurseries, nursing homes, care homes & retirement villagesLocation: Nottingham & Nottinghamshire - Various locations - We cover locations all of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire including Lincoln Newark MansfieldContract type: Full timeHourly rate Minimum from £16p/h to £20.00 p/h plus dependant on experience, job role, and environment. We will discuss pay rates at the time of the bookings.Please note: To be able to work within this environment you must have enhanced DBS covering adult, workforces, dated within the last 12 months or on the update service. If you don't have this, you must be willing to go through one at a cost.

You will be working within Care homes, nursing homes, retirement villages, nurseries outdoor activity centres, plus much more. You will be required to help and support with any sickness, short term, and long term, also to support with the increase demand.We can offer you flexibility for, daytime shifts, occasional weekends, and great pay rates. The more flexible you are with travelling and the role you cover the more shifts and work we can offer.

Majority of shifts are starting from 6/7am till 3/4pm and will include weekends but not every weekend. The more flexible with travel and shifts you cover the more work we can offer.The working environmentDue to the various types of sites we cover, your working environment will change from site to site.Within our care homes environments, the ideal candidate will be working with fresh nutritious food adhering to dietary requirements, cooking a variety of sold, modified and texture meals ensuring residents have a hot meal provided daily.Our nursery clients will be very similar as some smaller children from 0-3 years of age which will require texture diets too.We also supply to contract catering sites, Schools, Prisons, Hotels, restaurants, events plus many more hospitality venues, I am sure we have something to fit your experience and needs.Our sites will have menus to be working with or another chef/assistant on site to support, however on some occasions you may be required to be working alone due to number of people on site.We will always look to place you in the most comfortable environments for you.Main DutiesWork within a team to ensure jobs are completed for the dayPutting away deliveries.Working to specific diets including texture diets.Possibility of food orders, dependant on the role you are placed into i.e head chef/chef manager.Assist with the preparation of food & other areas of the kitchen including pot washing.Adhering to all relevant health and safety requirementsCompleting all H&S documentation via a tablet or on their paper documents.Cooking nutritious food within requirementsEnsure a clean as you go policy is always operatedPossibility of serving foodPossibility of till operationRequirements and skills:Previous experience as a chef up to chef de partie level within the last 2 years.Experience within a nursery or care homeFlexibility in shift patterns including weekendsExperience with the IDDSI frameworkGreat communication and team work skillsLevel 2 food hygiene certificate (ideal but not essential as training is provided)Food Allergen certificatesPassion for foodAbility to work under pressureDue to certain locations a full UK driving license is required along with own access to a vehicleAbility to cover ad hoc days due to client demand - you maybe required to cover same day requirements or bookings within less than 24 hours' notice, to cover absences and holiday cover.
