Job Purpose To support teaching and learning across the school by working collaboratively with teachers to plan, deliver, and assess learning activities. The HLTA will lead whole-class sessions when required, provide targeted interventions, and contribute to raising standards of achievement for all pupils. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning Support Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole classes under the direction of a teacher. Take responsibility for whole-class teaching during short-term teacher absence or PPA cover. Monitor, assess, record, and report on pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers. Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the needs of pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, or additional needs. Promote independent learning and positive behaviour in line with school policies. Curriculum Support Contribute to lesson planning and curriculum development. Deliver targeted intervention programmes to support pupil attainment and progress. Support the use of ICT in learning activities where appropriate. Pastoral and Behaviour Support Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
