An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at the Trust as Fundraising Manager for Major Gifts. You will play a pivotal role in securing transformational philanthropic support that protects, enhances and celebrates Scotland’s most treasured places.
You will join a committed and ambitious team responsible for building deep, meaningful relationships with donors and prospective supporters who have the capacity to make a significant and lasting impact on the Trust’s work.
As they approach their centenary and raise funds for ambitious capital projects this role is particularly exciting.
Developing and managing a portfolio of major gift prospects, you will focus on cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individuals capable of contributing at the highest levels, while also directly managing and developing an Executive and an Officer and working closely with their Prospect & Pipeline Researcher, Events Executive and senior colleagues across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced high‑value fundraising professional to help drive the National Trust for Scotland’s major gifts programme forward at a moment of strategic growth and renewed ambition.
Crucially, they are seeking someone who combines exceptional relationship‑building and solicitation skills with strong process discipline and organisational rigour.
You understand that major gift success depends not only on compelling conversations, but also on the systems, planning, documentation and follow‑through that ensure prospects move purposefully through the pipeline.
To thrive in this role, you will bring a well‑rounded understanding of best‑practice major gift fundraising, alongside a demonstrable track record of directly soliciting—or orchestrating the cultivation of—six‑ and seven‑figure philanthropic gifts.
With highly developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and a creative, goal‑oriented approach, you know how to develop a robust major gifts team and long‑standing partnerships that help donors and stakeholders realise their ambitions.
You are comfortable playing different roles depending on what the moment requires—driver or navigator, broker or facilitator—and you are motivated by achieving outcomes that make a tangible difference.

This role offers an excellent competitive salary within a range of £45,502 - £48,347 with significant company benefits.
