The role
As a Mechanical and Electrical Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary, working on a satellite ground station for the Skynet contract.
Day-to-day, you’ll work proactively to ensure capabilities are maintained, through both preventive and reactive maintenance, whilst performing scheduled maintenance tasks, supporting both Through Life Support (TLS) and new works.
1. Working to a planned timetable including inspecting, monitoring and reporting on the condition of mechanical and electrical assets on a satellite station
2. Carry out testing/rewiring/installation works to 18th Edition IEE Regs
3. Providing on call capacity to assist the overall delivery of continued services
4. Escalating failures in line with departmental reporting expectations
This position involves working at height. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights.
This role is full time, 37-hours per week and is based onsite in Bordon. You would be on call 1 week in 2, for which you will receive a 10% uplift on your salary.
Essential experience of the Mechanical and Electrical Technician
5. BS 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (IET)
6. Good understanding of COSHH regulations
Qualifications for the Mechanical and Electrical Technician
7. Minimum Level-3 award in Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (C&G /2)
8. Minimum NVQ3/C&G Level-3 diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic)
9. Clean UK driving licence
