Managing Director Designate – Precision Manufacturing
A long‑established precision engineering and fabrication business is seeking a Managing Director Designate to lead the company through a planned succession phase. The business has strong technical capability and significant potential for renewed growth.
The Role
You’ll work alongside the outgoing MD during a structured handover before taking full leadership responsibility. This is a hands‑on commercial and operational role covering:
* Day‑to‑day leadership of machining, fabrication, and finishing operations
* Driving sales growth through strong customer engagement
* Improving productivity, quality, and profitability
* Introducing modern manufacturing tools, automation, and digital processes
* Leading and developing a multi‑skilled team
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Director-level experience in manufacturing
* Technical understanding of machining and sheet metal
* Strong sales ability and natural charisma
* Experience modernising operations or adopting new technology
* Confidence to make independent, tough decisions
