Title : SAP Principal Systems Engineer
Location: Birmingham preferred, open to London or Salford (must travel to Birmingham once per week)
Contract Length: 6 months
Working Model: Hybrid – 1–2 days per week onsite
Hours: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week
Interview Process: 1–2 stages via Microsoft Teams

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP Principal Systems Engineer to support a large-scale HR transformation programme within a complex, fast-paced technology environment. You will lead the planning, design, integration, testing, and delivery of SAP HR systems, ensuring solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead technical delivery across SAP HR systems, including solution design, integration, and testing
* Provide expert technical guidance for HR transformation initiatives
* Collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, project teams, and technical leads
* Support SIT / UAT phases and ensure quality assurance across system changes
* Produce and review technical documentation
* Ensure systems are monitored, supported, and maintained effectively
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong background in HR change or transformation projects
* Expert knowledge of SAP HCM (Human Capital Management)
* Hands‑on experience with SAP Fiori and / or SAP ECC
* Solid understanding of systems integration, SIT, and UAT processes
* Excellent stakeholder and supplier / vendor management experience
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work in complex, multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience delivering solutions in large‑scale enterprise environments
