Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking an enthusiastic, results-driven Market Segment Manager of Complex Disease to join our dynamic global marketing team. This subject matter expert will be responsible for leading the global marketing strategy for the complex disease segment, with a focus on driving adoption of Oxford Nanopore’s sequencing solutions among human genetics researchers worldwide.

In this role, you will define and implement strategic marketing initiatives that support growth across the entire spectrum of complex diseases. The successful candidate must be comfortable with positioning across the genomic continuum, from genetic epidemiology and risk prediction in large cohorts to clinical research positioning for monogenic and familial forms of the diseases.
You will nurture strategic customer relationships, drive sales activation, and lead key initiatives that position the complex disease market as a significant growth driver for the company. The ideal candidate will combine marketing expertise and deep scientific knowledge and KOL network in at least one of the following domains: genetics of neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric genetics or genetics of cardiovascular diseases.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competition to develop a global strategy improving our market position in complex disease space.
* Cultivate connections with researchers, scientific consortia, and industry partners to foster collaboration.
* Work closely with commercial team leaders to offer sales team insights and strategies for driving sales and revenue growth in complex disease and large cohort markets. Train internal teams, including sales and field application scientists.
* Partner with Apps and R&D to acquire technical insights for developing new market applications.
* Collaborate with the broader Marketing Team to understand customer needs and behaviours, in order to develop messaging for the target audience, for marketing campaigns.
* Develop and monitor critical metrics to evaluate the success of market strategies and initiatives.
* Be an expert in genetic epidemiology and complex diseases, supporting content creation and internal teams.
What We’re Looking For…
* Extensive sales, commercial, or marketing experience in genomics/sequence, coupled with technical experience in research or commercial roles, for example, product management or FAS.
* Established strong grasp of the challenges faced by the disease audience and their struggles in attaining their goals.
* Familiarity with genetic analysis from variant discovery to function testing for complex diseases.
* Development of sales tools and product positioning, including compelling presentation skills, for the complex disease market and products as well as experience with sales team training and objection management.
* Segment the market and position value drivers by collaborating with Product Marketing and Marketing Operations.
* Collaborate with teams to define solutions, engage with leaders, identify gaps, and support strategy.
* Optimally communicate and present to technical and senior/executive audiences.
* Subject matter expertise in complex disease specifically neurology preferred.
* Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, including some international travel.
