Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. The Kitchen Porter will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, assisting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation, and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry while contributing to a high-quality dining experience.
Duties
* Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
* Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
* Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
* Support chefs during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with cooking as required.
* Organise and store food supplies appropriately to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
* Carry out general kitchen duties such as sweeping, mopping floors, and taking out rubbish.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential.
* Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is advantageous.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn from experienced culinary professionals.
