The Service & Team
The Senior Family Worker will have knowledge of the needs of disabled children and their families, understand how access to short breaks can benefit a disabled child and their family, and work alongside Family Based Short Break carers to support them in their caring role. The Senior Family Worker will undertake Family Based Short Break Carer's statutory visits and carers reviews under the direction of the social work qualified Team Manager.
This role is to work predominantly in the West of the county but occasionally cover other team members in the East. It is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
Working Pattern
This role requires working across the working week for 37 hours. Generally Monday – Friday with 08:45–17:15 Monday to Thursday and 08:45–16:45 on Friday. Occasionally working outside of these hours may be needed in an emergency situation. However, compressed hours will be considered.

Ideally the candidate will already be working at a Senior Family Worker level.
