We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team Blossom Lodge care home 46A Cherrys Road,Barnsley, S71 5QU. providing essential support and personalized care to individuals in various care settings. Duties
* Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
* Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
* Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
* Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities
* Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning tailored to individual dietary needs
* Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
* Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
* Observe and document patient conditions, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
* Follow prescribed care plans diligently while ensuring compliance with safety protocols like CPR and first aid procedures
* Support residents' social engagement activities to promote mental well-being and community participation
Experience
* Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred
* Hands-on experience with patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications
* Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or hospice care is highly desirable
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
* Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
* Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
* Previous roles involving long-term care or home health services will be considered a strong asset
