Job Title: Legal Counsel (Property) Location: Remote (with travel to Manchester for in-person team working days as required) Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (Depending on Experience) Benefits (including company car or car allowance) Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Contract Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm We’re looking for a talented and motivated Legal Counsel (Property) to join our high‑performing and award-winning Legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting our Property function while working across a wide and diverse range of commercial property matters. What You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Manage a varied caseload of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, subleases, licences, wayleaves, renewals and surrenders. Provide property support for wider corporate projects, including mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring. Build strong, trusted relationships across the organisation, particularly with our Property team to encourage early engagement with Legal, developing a good understanding of key business priorities and mitigate legal risk. Offer guidance and informal supervision to colleagues handling property‑related matters, and support broader legal work where needed. Contribute to strategic business projects and commercial arrangements beyond core property work. Collaborate with the Legal team to manage workloads effectively and deliver work in the most efficient way. Stay up to date with legal developments, conduct research, and share knowledge or deliver training where beneficial. Continuously improve legal templates, processes, ways of working, workflows and best practice across the team. Manage instructions to external legal advisers and help the Head of Legal with control of external spend. Role‑model our values and ensure full compliance with internal policies and regulatory conduct rules. What We're looking For A qualified property solicitor (England & Wales) with at least 3 years PQE, gained either in‑house or in private practice. Strong ability to build positive relationships quickly with internal and external partners. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a pragmatic and commercial approach. Ability to manage multiple matters with shifting priorities, while maintaining high standards of delivery. A positive, adaptable mindset and enthusiasm for learning new areas of law. Confidence to work autonomously while knowing when to seek guidance. Resilience under pressure, professional maturity and strong organisational and influencing skills.
