The Role
We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant for an established company based near Thirsk,you will be responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchasing and ordering of packaging, raw materials, and management of consumable stocks
2. Managing supplier invoice queries
3. Processing order acknowledgements, delivery notes, and purchase orders
4. Preparing and managing export documentation
5. Arranging the handling and delivery of raw materials
6. Producing reports as required
7. Assisting with stock control, including stock takes and reconciliation
8. Negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers
9. Maintaining and updating the approved supplier list
10. Booking in and out raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
Candidate Requirements
11. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within purchasing or supply chain
12. Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
13. Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capability to prioritise effectively and perform under pressure
14. A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
15. Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive change and improvements to deliver results
16. Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach to supporting internal stakeholders
17. Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
