Overview
First Military Recruitment is currently supporting our client in the search for a Operative / Driver. This role requires flexibility due to shift patterns. Our client is keen to offer opportunities to ex-military personnel, but all applications will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Record Centre Operative / Driver:
1. Ensure all daily client work orders are filled upon receipt from Client Service.
2. Ensure rush work orders are processed timely and accurately.
3. Refile files, containers, and tapes daily within the allocated timescales.
4. Maintain assigned racking and row upkeep, including containers, lids, tape cases, transit cases (replaced and repaired), and ensuring floors are free of debris. Notify the Operations Manager of any rack or lighting repairs needed.
5. Perform audits as scheduled or upon request.
6. Process destruction orders as scheduled or upon request.
7. Complete daily paperwork and emails before leaving for the day.
8. Verify and load all orders according to SOPs.
9. Complete daily safety inspections of the assigned vehicle.
10. Complete daily routes as assigned by the Records Centre Supervisor, driving and parking vehicles safely and legally.
11. Perform server changes as required.
12. Carry out daily maintenance and safety checks of all record centre vehicles and equipment.
13. Assist with unloading/loading trucks and vans.
14. Operate forklifts and/or pick lifts (training provided).
15. Comply with all company policies and relevant data protection legislation to ensure sensitive and personal information is protected.
16. Adhere to all company policies and complete mandatory training modules.
17. Report any security, environmental, or health and safety incidents promptly to your line manager or the Compliance team.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience in a multi-drop operation service delivery role, preferably within the records management industry.
2. Full clean driving license.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Flexibility to work across teams.
5. Routine lifting, bending, and overhead stretching.
6. Routine scanning of materials.
7. Pushing and pulling boxes, transit cases, tapes, and pallet jacks.
8. Ability to operate forklift and/or pick lift (training provided).
9. Computer literacy.
