We are looking for a mature, motivated and committed individual who is flexible, committed and hardworking with a calm professional demeanour to help us build a healthier nation as a Security Officer at our Barts Hospital.
As our Security Assistant you will;
Work with the other members of the Security Team, Porters, Reception and Operations Director and along the way, you'll build strong relationships with hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients. Working collaboratively alongside the rest of the hospital team, you’ll ensure patients & staff benefit from the best possible services, equipment and care.
You will ideally have previous experience working in a similar role & setting with high volumes of activity and preferably in private patient or corporate environments, as well as for the recruitment and induction of individuals in this sort of role. Qualification in Security Guarding, CCTV use and /or CSCS certification would be an asset.
You will be responsible for staff and patient security across the site and will need to be flexible, committed and hardworking with a calm professional demeanour. The role is one which covers 24 hrs/day so we are looking to cover nights shifts from 7pm – 7am on a rota, as well as weekends or weekday cover as required to ensure the premises are locked and secure for the night and to facilitate handover to the clinical team. Previous experience in this sort of role is essential.

In May 2022, we opened the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital: The City of London’s only independent hospital. Situated next to St Bartholomew’s NHS hospital, Nuffield Health at St Barts will be our flagship centre for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynaecology and urology surgery.
The new hospital will consist of:
48 inpatient and day case bedrooms
28 consultation rooms
Three digital operating theatres
Cardiac catheterisation lab
Endoscopy and minor ops theatre
Full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray
