SECONDMENT VACANCY - ONLY OPEN TO CFT & RCHT EMPLOYEES
Are you a passionate and experienced Mental Health Nurse looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you want to be part of a forward-thinking team that values innovation, compassion, and personal development?
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Community Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive service. This is more than just a job -- it's a chance to shape the future of young people's mental health care while growing and thriving in your own professional journey.
In this pivotal role, you will:
Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions for children, young people, and their families.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each individual receives the highest quality, person-centred care.
Be part of a service that is committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and professional excellence.
We recognise that working in children's mental health can be both rewarding and emotionally demanding. That's why we place such importance on team wellbeing, mutual support, and ongoing professional development. You'll be part of a caring, inclusive environment where your ideas are valued, your growth is supported, and your impact is recognised.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine compassion, clinical expertise, and creativity then we'd love to welcome you to our team.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be a key practitioner within the Children and Young People's Mental Health Service, using your clinical expertise and leadership skills to enhance service delivery and support the professional development of others. You will provide supervision to members of the nursing team within West Cornwall CAMHS, promoting best practice and professional growth.
You will play an active role in the delivery of evidence-based interventions for children, young people, and families, with a particular focus on risk and crisis management through coordination of our Getting Risk Support care pathway.
In addition, you will:
* Lead the nursing provision within the Integrated Care Area (ICA), working alongside the Lead Psychologist and fellow Clinical Nurse Specialists to ensure cohesive and effective service delivery.
* Manage a personal caseload from referral through to discharge, undertaking both routine and high-priority assessments and interventions, and exercising a high degree of clinical autonomy.
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary team working, service development, and governance activities including research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide consultation, advice, and liaison to colleagues and external agencies to promote coordinated, high-quality care.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.
Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
