South Poles’ Communications & Public Affairs team drives the corporate communications and advocacy for South Pole. This includes supporting, building, and protecting our brand. From positioning South Pole as an impact-driven global thought leader in the fight for climate action, to strengthening our brand position and sharpening key messages, we are responsible for ensuring that the company is synonymous with the highest standards of climate ambition and action. Beyond elevating our brand and empowering staff to act as ambassadors for our company, our team also includes public affairs to analyse policy and manage risk, a web team to manage and develop our websites, and client communications experts who provide trusted advice to clients on how to best communicate climate action and manage risk.


Job summary:

Reporting to the Director of Global Communications, the Senior Content Strategist will play a central role in strategizing, executing, and improving the delivery of impactful thought-leadership content, working in close collaboration with the in-house Market Research team and Global Marketing Studio. More specifically, the Senior Content Strategist will help power South Pole’s thought-leadership content by identifying, planning, and commissioning new research that reinforce South Pole’s corporate positioning around true climate impact towards clients, partners, and the media

* Deliver final global thought-leadership campaigns that increase South Pole’s brand recognition, and execute these campaigns across key regions in close collaboration with Regional Marketing and/or Communications leads (Europe, Americas, and APAC).
* Commission and coordinate new research and insights as required to carve out distinct, relevant points of view that can be weaved into South Pole’s discourse with clients, stakeholders, and the media
* Recommend new creative thought-leadership content formats that can be championed by the South Pole brand
* Manage the Comms content calendar and editorial approach, aligning the content direction with business objectives
* Write, edit, and proofread both thought-leadership and Marketing content to make sure key messaging, tone and style are consistent across all delivery platforms
* Own South Pole’s external, bi-monthly newsletter for global subscribers, including the planning, coordination, publication, and performance management of newsletter content
* Create and manage social media campaigns for key dates – e.g World Environment Day, World Oceans Day – together with the Solutions Marketing team and South Pole’s Social Media Expert
* Work collaboratively with the extended Communications team, and support colleagues as needed. This may include:
- drafting and editing media releases, news items, and blogs for internal and external channels
- researching or coordinating research for Comms reports
- updating media target lists or preparing supportive assets for media relations
- creating or researching talking points for South Pole executives


Requirements:

* Education in communications, (data) journalism, climate change, or other relevant field
* Extensive relevant work experience in fields related to external communications,
(data) journalism, branding, market research, or similar
* Excellent writing and presentation skills, an exceptional storyteller
* Experience with branded content
* Research and insights: Experience in either designing and/or executing market research; putting together data from multiple sources to tell a good story
* Ability to work collaboratively in teams and translate key messages into inspiring and engaging content
* Innovative and resourceful mindset, who is able to challenge the status quo, bring new ideas and make creative suggestions to increase the impact of corporate thought-leadership communications
* Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced global organisation
* Strong attention to detail
* Fluency in English is a must, any other additional language is a plus
* Passion for and experience in working with climate change, climate finance or related field
* Experience working with organisations or projects that focus on climate change, climate finance, climate policy, or corporate sustainability
* Knowledge of business visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau
