Position: School Business Support Assistant – Administrative Assistant
Contract Type: Part-time (37 hours per week, 45.6 weeks per year)
Location: Gateway Primary Free School, Tilbury, Essex – part of the Gateway Learning Community Trust.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the student database for all admissions, using SIMS and SAMs.
* Provide secretarial, clerical and word‑processing support, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
* Handle administrative tasks such as photocopying, typing, and collating pupils' files.
* Administer first aid – a first aid certificate is desirable, training will be provided.
* Undertake reception and telephone duties, answering enquiries from staff, pupils, parents and the general public in a calm and professional manner.
Qualifications & Requirements
* GCSE English & Maths grade C or above.
* Excellent administration and IT skills.
* Experience with SIMS and SAMs preferred.
* First aid training desirable; training to be provided if needed.
