The business has experienced significant growth over the past decade, expanding to approximately £30m+ turnover following major investment in its production facility.The local company is a key part of a larger, international group, which provides international backing while retaining strong autonomy at site level. As the business continues to scale, there is now a requirement to appoint a Head of Finance to strengthen financial leadership, governance, and commercial insight.
Job Description
This is a senior, plant‑based Head of Finance position with full responsibility for the finance function. Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting operational decision‑making and shaping the finance agenda as the business enters its next phase of development.The role offers genuine breadth, combining hands‑on leadership with strategic input, and will suit someone who enjoys operating in a growing, evolving environment, where they can make improvements in line with group and local needs.Key Responsibilities
3. Lead and develop the finance function across the business
4. Strengthen financial controls, processes, and reporting as the organisation scales
5. Act as a commercial partner to operational and senior leadership teams
6. Deliver timely, accurate management information and performance insight
7. Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities
8. Ensure effective reporting aligned with group ownership requirements
9. Contribute to strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and continuous improvement
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for this critical Head of Finance position will meet the following criteria:
10. Extensive manufacturing / fmcg experience
11. Proven senior finance leadership experience (Head of Finance / FC / FD level)
12. Background within manufacturing, food, FMCG, or operational environments
13. Strong technical finance capability with a commercial, pragmatic approach
14. Comfortable operating in a hands‑on role within a growing business
15. Confident engaging with senior stakeholders locally and at group level
16. Able to work on‑site in Kent (limited public transport access)
17. Willing to travel to Spain on a regular basis, particularly during training and onboarding.
