Stomping Grounds North East is a charity dedicated to connecting children, young people, families and communities with nature through forest school and outdoor learning activities across Northumberland, Durham, Gateshead and Newcastle.

Role Purpose
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Fundraising Officer to lead and grow our income generation activities. This role is key to ensuring the organisation’s sustainability and future growth by securing funding, building strong relationships, and communicating our impact effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Grant Applications
* Lead the development and submission of high-quality funding applications to trusts, foundations and statutory funders
* Build and manage a strong funding pipeline, tracking opportunities, deadlines and outcomes
* Work with senior leadership to develop funding strategies aligned with organisational priorities
Donor Management
* Manage individual giving programmes, including one-off and regular donations
* Build and maintain strong relationships with donors to encourage long-term support
* Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with data protection regulations
Corporate Partnerships
* Identify and develop relationships with corporate partners and local businesses
* Create tailored sponsorship proposals and partnership packages
* Deliver agreed benefits, reporting and engagement opportunities for partners
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
* Track fundraising performance against targets and report on progress
* Support the collection and analysis of impact data (e.g. feedback, case studies, outcomes)
* Produce clear, engaging reports for funders and stakeholders
Storytelling & Communications
* Capture compelling stories, testimonials and case studies
* Support fundraising through content for newsletters, social media and reports
* Ensure all communications reflect participant voices ethically and sensitively
Compliance
* Ensure timely submission of funder reports
* Maintain high standards of record-keeping and funder stewardship
Person Specification
Essential
* Proven experience in fundraising, bid writing or grant management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
* Experience of monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting
Desirable
* Experience in the charity, education or outdoor learning sector
* Experience in corporate or community fundraising
* Experience capturing stories from young people or families
