If you're a creative, digitally savvy marketer looking to develop your skills in a dynamic team, we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you! About the Role We’re on the lookout for a Marketing Officer to join our Sports and Leisure team to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months. This is a key role in promoting Chelmsford City Council’s four leisure centres and driving awareness of our broad range of fitness memberships, sports facilities, wellbeing initiatives, and community events. Key Responsibilities As our Marketing Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering eye-catching, results-driven campaigns across both digital and traditional channels. You'll work on a wide variety of projects aimed at promoting all aspects of the leisure environment, supporting income and membership growth targets. This will involve producing engaging marketing content and developing targeted, data-informed campaigns to reach both existing and new audiences. You will also be responsible for creating and scheduling content across websites, email marketing, social media, and digital screens. A key part of the role will include writing compelling copy and producing creative materials such as advertisements, posters, and leaflets. Experience using Canva, email marketing platforms (CRMs), and video editing software is essential. You should have a strong digital skillset and confidence in interpreting data from social media platforms to inform campaigns. Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial, as is a hands-on approach to managing multiple projects and deadlines. You’ll need to be comfortable building positive working relationships with our leisure centres and other stakeholders. The ability to travel to and from our sites in Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers is also required. Working Hours and Benefits This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work to support events and campaign launches.
