Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Rotational Physiotherapy staff across NHS A&A. This post will rotate through a variety of community and Acute services

What you will do:

The Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy care across a range of clinical specialties, including musculoskeletal, inpatient, and rehabilitation settings. The role involves assessing, planning, and implementing individualised treatment programmes to promote recovery, improve function, and support discharge planning. The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development, and participate in clinical supervision and in-service training. Rotations are designed to develop core competencies and broaden clinical experience, The physiotherapist is expected to maintain accurate clinical records, adhere to professional standards, and ensure safe and effective care delivery. Band 5 physiotherapists are expected to participate in the Ayrshire on call rota, so car access is essential to this role.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Applicants must hold a degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The role requires a sound understanding of physiotherapy principles and evidence-based practice across a variety of clinical areas. While previous NHS experience is desirable, newly qualified physiotherapists are encouraged to apply. Essential skills include effective communication, time management, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. The postholder should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and be willing to engage in supervision and training activities. Basic IT skills and familiarity with electronic patient records are also required. Candidates should demonstrate examples of evidenced based practice and autonomous working.

Hours and Shift Pattern:


37 hours per week Monday – Friday with participation in the out of hours on-call rota at evenings and weekends
