We are excited to announce a vacancy for an enthusiastic and flexible, full-time experienced Health Care Assistant or Trainee Health Care Assistant to join our team at Leiston Surgery. We are looking for an individual to work 37.5 hours per week across 4-5 days.
Duty patterns are variable, but the practice core hours are from 7.45am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
Responsibilities include:
* Checking patient identification against GP requests and confirming details with patients
* Providing Phlebotomy according to training and procedures
* Providing simple wound care and dressings as trained
* Taking physiological measurements such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight, visual acuity, urinalysis, and ECG
* Administering B12 injections, flu, COVID, and pneumonia vaccinations under Patient Specific Directions
* Monitoring cold chain storage and reporting abnormalities
* Undertaking health checks, peak-flow measurements, suture and clip removal, and other trained tasks
* Fitting 24-hour BP machines as directed
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery
* Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient interventions
* Restocking consultation rooms and managing stock orders

Job responsibilities
Summary:
Supporting the practice nursing team under indirect supervision of the Clinical Lead, within practice guidelines, to deliver care including treatment, prevention, health promotion, and patient education. The post involves working at two locations and visiting housebound or care home patients as needed.
Additional duties include:
* Supporting health promotion and screening initiatives
* Providing accurate information to patients within competence
* Reporting anomalies and significant patient issues to senior staff
* Maintaining detailed and accurate records
* Performing delegated clinical activities as taught
