Ideal candidates will be passionate about cloud technologies, automation and CI/CD and will relish the challenge of building and maintaining robust architecture designed to support near real time analytics, advanced data science and critical operational projects reliant on data. This role requires that you work closely with technology and business stakeholders and translate business data needs to technical requirements, design and implementation. Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our London, UK office & 2 days working from home Reporting to: Staff Data Engineering These are some of the key ingredients to the role: Implement secure and well-tested Google Cloud Platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code. Implement and maintain auto-scaling and auto-healing Kubernetes clusters in GKE, collaborating with developers. Automate all application deployments within Google Cloud. Maintain comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting across all applications using the Prometheus stack. Establish peer-to-peer networking between AWS and Google Cloud for a seamless multi-cloud strategy. Promote and evangelize DevOps best practices within the team. Drive continuous improvement by applying standard methodologies to products, services, and processes, while providing technical leadership to deprecate legacy services and foster a high-performance team culture. What will you bring to the table? Scalable Systems & Problem Solving: Proven ability to build scalable systems, manage large datasets, and resolve critical infrastructure issues. Platform Optimization: Expertise in scaling platforms, troubleshooting performance, ensuring service failover, and optimizing systems. Cloud Expertise (GCP & AWS): Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform and AWS infrastructure. Containerization & Orchestration: Proficient with Docker, serverless technologies, container registries, and managed Kubernetes (GKE, Autopilot) including Helm. Monitoring & Logging: Strong skills in system monitoring and logging using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Google Cloud's offerings. Cloud Networking & Security: Experienced in managing and securing cloud networking environments (VPCs, VPNs, firewalls, DNS). Automation & Scripting: Solid foundation in Linux, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Pulumi), configuration management (Ansible), CI/CD, and scripting (Bash, Python).
