Job Description
If you aim to expand your industry experience and advance your career in cost management, our North East team seeks experienced Cost Managers aspiring to senior roles. You will work on industry-leading infrastructure projects in transportation, utilities, and highways, with support to find the right fit within our client base.
As a Senior Cost Manager, you will engage in exciting projects and develop operational and technical skills. We support career progression through excellent training, qualifications, and portfolio diversification.
Job Objectives
1. Build professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders.
2. Administer contracts aligned with project objectives and policies.
3. Monitor, forecast, and report project costs accurately to ensure budget adherence.
4. Manage cost variances and cash flow proactively, ensuring timely and correct applications.
5. Collaborate with client and contractor teams to meet project KPIs, including cost control and value engineering.
6. Manage contract changes effectively within governance and best practices.
7. Improve forecast and budget accuracy continually.
8. Provide sound commercial support and knowledge to stakeholders.
9. Negotiate and finalize final accounts.
10. Lead teams and commissions as needed.
Qualifications
Experience or understanding in the following areas is advantageous:
* Excellent communication skills
* Contract Management (NEC3, Option C preferred)
* Cost Management
* Change management and control
* Valuation, Risk Management, Procurement, Estimating, Pricing, Reporting
* Collaborative approach and project efficiency
* People management and commission oversight
* Knowledge of construction industry technical matters, procurement routes, value management, and engineering
* Degree in a relevant subject (preferred)
* Professional body membership or progress towards it (preferred)
