About the Role:
You’ll develop major capital projects from the feasibility stage rightthrough to EPC delivery acting as the Electrical Technical Authority for theCapital Projects team.
Stakeholder engagement will be key. In addition to collaborating withcolleagues across Drax and beyond, you’ll manage relationships with externalpartners including suppliers, vendors,technology companies, OEMs and start-ups.
You’ll lead and develop a team of direct reports inthe form of engineers, graduates, sub-contractors and trainees.
This role is based at Drax Power Station Selby,however it is not maintenance based – the focus is on delivering CapitalProjects in the UK and Globally.
About you
You’ll need demonstrable extensive experience leadingan electrical engineering team, delivering major projects within powergeneration, process manufacturing or heavy industry.
As a minimum, you will be a BEng qualified engineer, however a CharteredEngineer is preferred. You’ll be a member and working towards accreditationwith a professional institute such as CEng or IEng.
An IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification is beneficial.
This role requires knowledge of British and Internationalcodes and standards relevant to electrical design and operation(IEC/IEE/BS-EN). You’ll also need an understanding of the following: electricalprotection schemes, high voltage switchgear/ transformers/ generators, electricalsystem design, operation and maintenance and the UK electricity grid markets.
