Year 1 Class Teacher Permanent Position

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
The successful candidate will join a strong Key Stage 1 team, working alongside a parallel Year 1 teacher in a two-form entry structure. This provides excellent opportunities for shared planning, moderation, and collaborative teaching.
The successful candidate will:
Have a secure understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, particularly in Year 1, including the Phonics Screening Check
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and disadvantaged pupils
Demonstrate a strong commitment to early reading, phonics, and language development
Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and support pupil progress
Set high expectations for behaviour, attainment, and presentation
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Show a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and eventsThe school is particularly interested in candidates who:
Have experience teaching in Year 1 or across Key Stage 1
Are confident delivering phonics (e.g. Little Wandle or similar schemes)
Have a strong understanding of early reading and writing development
