Job Title: PMSI Programmer Job Summary: Provide programming support to fulfill customers’ requests and support the internal systems infrastructure by performing the following duties. Essential Functions: Refine customer data and format final product using our document creation software. Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware and programming technology. Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes. Write new program code using prescribed specifications. Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part. Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor. Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements and inclusion of internal checks and controls Write and maintain programming documentation, document programming problems and resolutions for future reference. Performs these documentation and administrative duties in a timely manner. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested. Assist personnel of other departments as an Information Technology resource. Conceptual understanding of data elements, FTP clients and databases. Basic knowledge of overall processing concepts. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to translate instructions into programming changes. Ability to clearly and thoroughly document programming changes in simple terms. Ability to debug code, basic problematic situations, and/or processing exceptions. Ability to design, document, and execute basic test plans for all changes. Ability to effectively assess priority/complexity of tasks and manage time appropriately. Ability to identify and communicate any concerns with ability to meet time frames with supervisor. Ability to understand and work with data in various formats. Up to 10% travel may be required Education: 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience Experience: 0-2 years of programming experience Supervision: N/A Certifications: N/A Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
