Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children's Audiology Team based at Brighton General Hospital in the role of Paediatric Audiologist.
The post is based at the Seaside View Child Development Centre at Brighton General Hospital. Within the role there is an expectation to work at our other sites in Haywards Heath and Crawley. There is scope within the role to develop paediatric audiology skills with a primary focus on hearing assessment and work in partnership with senior audiologists, audiology assistants and the wider multi-disciplinary team of the child development centre across all aspects of paediatric audiology.
Main duties of the job
* To contribute to the development of the Paediatric Audiology service and departmental protocols and policies and to participate fully in the development of objectives within the service.
* To promote the use of social media for the children's audiology service and develop the web based patient/service interface in compliance with SCFT and national guidelines.
* To contribute to the development of local clinical guidelines and care pathways.
* To assume delegated tasks as requested by line manager, including participation in working groups, policy development groups.
* When requested, to deputise as necessary for duties and responsibilities within the Paediatric Audiology Service.
* To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager, which are commensurate with the role.
* To fully participate in the Trust's appraisal system and personal development planning process on a six monthly basis and be responsible for contributing to and complying with agreed personal, service and trust objectives.
* To provide supervision and personal development reviews to those assigned to the post holder through direct line management. Ensuring compliance with SCFTs appraisal process, comprehensive use of ESR, linking with SCFT support services (e.g. Human resources, Occupational Therapy) as required.
