As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors, installing products they love into their homes such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets, as part of a two-person delivery crew. * Salary: Starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Trainee will be £26,700 (Annual) & Installer Trainee will be £29,000 (Annual)
Note: All applicants must be over 18 due to role requirements.
Driver Trainee Responsibilities
Complete the 12-month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee program to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer by meeting the relevant criteria.
* Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
* Assist in loading your vehicle with daily deliveries, collaborating with the warehouse team.
* Respect customers' homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation to customers.
* Stay updated with new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
This role involves heavy lifting, delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential Skills for Driver Trainee
* UK B-Category manual driving license with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face.
* Interest in technology and installation.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in installation and customer delivery driving.
Driver Installer Trainee Responsibilities
Complete the 3-month Customer Delivery Installer Trainee program to become a fully qualified installer.
* Prioritize excellent customer service.
* Load your delivery vehicle with the warehouse team.
* Respect customers' homes and handle unforeseen issues.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
* Keep up-to-date with new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
This role also involves heavy lifting of large items.
Essential Skills for Installer Trainee
* Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Good understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with white goods installation/disconnection.
* TV installation experience.
* Assembly of flat-pack furniture.
