Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join our Telford Madeley Vets for Pets practice.
About Us
Our practice has an expanding, loyal client base with a mixed caseload and we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and patient care. The practice is located on a small retail park, with loads of free parking, and with Subway/KFC/Aldi/Lidl nearby to cater for every lunchtime emergency.
Our practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned and purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital X-ray, ultrasound and in-house laboratory facilities. We are a PSS and silver ISFM cat friendly accredited practice.
About the Role
This is a part time role working 32 hours per week, across 5 days per week plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 9am to 12pm. We are seeking a passionate Veterinary Care Assistant who is flexible and willing to provide support throughout the practice, assisting both our clinical team and client care advisors as needed. Whilst previous VCA experience is essential, professional qualifications are not.
Please note that while we value the development of our team, we do not currently have a progression route into a Student Veterinary Nurse position at this time. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about being a Veterinary Care Assistant and is looking to grow and thrive within this capacity.

Key Responsibilities
* Proactively work closely with the clinical and non-clinical team to deliver timely and effective patient and client care for all.
* Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner using the in-practice database system.
* Maintain basic levels of product knowledge and be able to advise clients where appropriate to do so.
* Support team in preparing patient paperwork.
* Comply with Health & Safety Regulations and policies within the practice.
* Work with other members of the team to ensure that the reception and other areas of the practice are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and are presentable at all times.
Key Attributes
* Team player who is keen to get stuck in, self-motivated and enthusiastic to learn.
* Experienced in patient handling.
* Experience with in-house laboratory equipment.
* Competent at in patient care, good housekeeping and infection control.

The role will initially be paid at £12.21 per hour.
