Research Fellow in EdgeAI

About the Role
We are currently inviting applications for the position of Research Fellow to join the dynamic team at the Smart Sensing Lab ( ), led by Professor Eiman Kanjo.
The role is integral to an EPSRC-funded project titled "ProSensing: Low-Power, High-Speed, Adaptable Processing-In-Sensing Capability" while working closely with Defence and Security Stakeholders.
As a successful candidate, you will become an integral part of the vibrant and collaborative Smart Sensing Lab. This team is at the forefront of developing tinyML technologies, maintaining strong connections with the Edge AI foundation and various industrial partners.
We are seeking candidates with a doctoral degree and substantial experience in Persuasive and Edge Computing or related areas. Essential expertise includes embedded and sensing systems, tinyML, data science, AI and software development. Responsibilities encompass active involvement in the ProSensing project's development activities, such as AI on Edge tools, collaboration with project stakeholders, and engagement with the consortium and Defence and Security stakeholders.
Technical Requirements:
* Strong coding skills with background in machine learning,
* Extensive experience in building Neural Network models and a solid foundation in mathematics.
* Technical proficiency in Python, C, or C++, and familiarity with Tensorflow Lite/Micro, Pytorch.
* Experience in Embedded system is essential.
* Working knowledge of Android/Flutter development is advantageous.
The selected applicant will undergo mandatory security checks. The contract for this post is contingent upon successful security clearance.
