We are seeking a motivated, confident, and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and high-performing primary school in Epping, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Upper Key Stage 2 and is passionate about delivering lessons that challenge pupils while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

As the Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, preparing pupils for Year 6, and encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence. You will play a key role in creating a positive learning environment where pupils thrive and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
* Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Monitor progress and use assessment data to inform planning and interventions
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, and a love of learning
* Prepare pupils academically and emotionally for Year 6
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
* Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks
* Be organised, confident, and proactive
* Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development
* Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
