What you'll do
This is a varied and interesting role which will see you work alongside the Management Accountant responsible for overhead directorates, such as Finance, IT, HR, Regulation, Compliance, etc.
You willprovide high-quality information and assistance to all clients within these directorates, enabling them to manage their business in an efficient and effective manner andensuring a consistent approach across Wessex Water Group on policies and procedures.
You will also provide support with monitoring and reporting the financial performance of these overhead departments, including the creation and consolidation of annual financial budgets and quarterly forecasts, both for operational costs and the creation of annual staff rates.
Your responsibilities will include:
* assisting the Management Accountant in the preparation of annual budgets
* monthly accounts preparation
* the provision of financial data for business reviews
* monthly meetings to monitor performance against budgets
* the development of financial reporting with the rest of the team
* liaison with external auditors
* assisting Business Unit Managers in identifying areas of potential savings/development
* monthly tasks required to maintain accounts
* assisting with capital accounting.
What you'll need
In this role, you will need to:
* be part-qualified or AAT qualified
* have one to two years of relevant experience
* have a confident and assertive manner
* have a positive and ‘can do' approach
* be IT literate, including an intermediate understanding of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel
* have sound interpersonal skills, including telephone and written communication skills.
