Description Join Gosport Borough Council as our Open Spaces Inspector Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 per annum (Grade 5) Location: Gosport, Hampshire Contract Type: 2 Year Fixed Term, 37 hours a week Do you have a passion for improving the quality and safety in our public spaces? Gosport Borough Council is seeking an Open Spaces Inspector to lead the day-to-day inspections in our parks and open spaces, coastal areas, and public toilets. About the Role To ensure Gosport Borough Council’s parks, open spaces, coastal areas, public toilets, and other public assets remain in a safe, clean, and welcoming condition for the community. You will be the "eyes and ears" on the ground, identifying risks and ensuring high standards of maintenance and safety. What we’re Looking For Proven experience working in parks, open spaces, or a comparable frontline public service. Ability to inspect equipment, surfacing, and furniture and accurately identify defects. A strong understanding of current parks/open space issues and a commitment to Health & Safety standards. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with the public as a positive Council ambassador. Competent in using Word, Excel, email, and the internet. Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions, occasionally outside normal hours. A reliable team player who is equally comfortable working independently.
