Design & Technology Technician – E‑ACT Merchants’ Academy – Ambition, Community, Opportunity
E‑ACT Merchants’ Academy is an ambitious all‑through school in South Bristol, offering a supportive and inclusive environment for students from Nursery to Sixth Form. We are looking for a practical, organised, and enthusiastic Design Technology Technician to support DT lesson delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare materials, tools and equipment for Design Technology lessons
* Maintain workshops, machinery and resources to a high standard
* Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
* Support students and staff during practical lessons
* Manage stock levels, ordering and storage of materials
* Assist with displays, projects and enrichment activities
* Contribute to a safe, organised and inspiring learning environment
Qualifications and Skills
* GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
* Practical experience in Design Technology or a workshop environment
* Good understanding of health and safety procedures
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills
* Ability to maintain tools, equipment and resources
* Confidence supporting students during practical activities
Pay range: NJC 4 – 7 – £22,150.90 – £23,222.16 (FTE: £25,185.00 – £26,403.00). Hours: 7 hours per week, 39
