Cpl Life Sciences are looking for a Project Technician (initial 2 year FTC) to provide technical and facilities support within a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging site in Hertfordshire.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in ensuring that site engineering, facilities, and production systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with GMP and industry standards. This position offers the chance to get hands-on with complex technical challenges while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
What You’ll Do
* Provide technical engineering support across manufacturing, packaging, and facilities areas.
* Deliver improvements to engineering systems and equipment reliability.
* Lead and support small-scale engineering and continuous improvement projects.
* Coordinate maintenance activities, contractor management, and site shutdowns.
* Ensure all activities are completed in line with GMP, GDP, EHS, and corporate quality standards.
* Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
* Conduct and review risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Time-served apprenticeship with City & Guilds and/or NVQ Level 3–4 in an engineering or building services discipline.
* Experience supporting facilities or engineering operations within a pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of GMP and Good Engineering Practice (GEP).
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* EHS or project management qualifications (desirable but not essential).
