The Head Office of this Civil Engineering Consultancy is based in Horsham, West Sussex.
We provide a bespoke service to a NAV in relation to the technical approval, site inspection and the adoption of section 104 of the Water Industry Act infrastructure.
You will be joining a small team of Site Sewer Inspectors who manage site inspections in England and Wales. Due to their increasing workload.
You will be we based in the North of England and would be required to work from home with the occasional visit to the Head Office in Horsham.
This position will require travelling from home to housing developments in a geographical area north of Birmingham up to Carlisle and across to Newcastle.
What are the Key Accountabilities
You will be required to manage your own time in an effectual way which will require arranging pre-start meetings with Civil Engineering Contractors then Inspecting the sewers being constructed on developments, arranging air tests on sewer runs and visual inspections of manholes and other sewer related infrastructure.
As the development progresses up to adoption you will be required to assess CCTV surveys of sewer runs to identify defects and verify as-built surveys.
Knowledge & Background
1. Have had a background of inspecting sewers on housing developments
2. Full understanding of Sewers for Adoption 6th Edition and the Design and Construction Guidance for foul and surface water sewers (DCG)
3. Fully aware of the health and safety requirements for being on a housing development
4. Understand all aspects of how sewers are pressure tested
Essential Skills
1. Must be computer literate and have used the Microsoft Office Suite
2. Good communicator
3. Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
4. Clean driving licence
5. Physically fit
Salary and Working Hours
Salary will be dependent on experience
Working hours are 8-00am to 5-00pm with an hour for lunch
