An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team as a Senior Occupational Therapist.
Base: Poole Hospital. Interview date: 29th May 2026. This advert closes on Sunday 17 May 2026.
This post is based at the Poole site, the main Orthopaedic Trauma site for University Hospitals Dorset. It is a fast‑paced, dynamic working environment where you will be part of a well‑established collaborative Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service. A Band 7 Clinical Specialist OT will support you, and you will receive regular supervision and training.
Responsibilities
* Provide supervision to other team members and contribute to the team training programme.
* Develop managerial skills and lead service development within the team and wider services.
* Deliver high‑level assessments, moving and handling, cognitive assessments and interventions, capacity assessments, admission avoidance and complex discharge planning.
* Manage a caseload of patients with a wide range of injuries and complexity, while supporting less experienced staff.
* Work in partnership with health and community providers to enable Discharge to Assess and Home First principles.
* Support patients within the acute hospital and in their homes to ensure they receive the right service in the best place for them.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration.
