Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented freight professional to join our client’s expanding logistics division. This role will see you managing both air and sea freight operations from start to finish, ensuring exceptional service to customers worldwide while contributing to the ongoing growth of their in-house forwarding capability.
What you’ll be doing:
Overseeing the full process for global import and export shipments by air and sea
Preparing and issuing all freight documentation, including MAWB and HAWB
Negotiating competitive rates with carriers and third-party providers
Producing accurate freight quotes for customer enquiries
Scheduling collections and final deliveries to meet strict deadlines
Managing all customs documentation, compliance checks, and shipment tracking
Liaising with customers, shipping lines, and overseas agents to ensure seamless delivery
Handling all stages of export jobs from start to finish
Maintaining precise job records within the in-house system
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and suppliers
Providing clients with shipment updates and proof of export/import paperwork
Supporting import processes when required
Working closely with the sales and operations teams to coordinate daily activities
Delivering general administrative support to the wider team
Answering and directing calls in a professional manner
What we’re looking for:
At least 2 years’ experience in a multimodal freight forwarding role (air & sea, import & export)
Sound knowledge of customs procedures and international shipping legislation
Confident communicator and skilled negotiator
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Previous exposure to both operations and business development is beneficial
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Familiarity with ASM Sequoia and CDS systems would be advantageous
