Care and Support - The Ashton Care Home
Contract: Full Time & Part-Time. Salary: £12.21 per hour. Shift Type: Days & Nights Available. Contracted hours: 24‑48 hours per week.
Our private care home is located in the beautiful town of Hinckley, close to the town centre, and specialises in Residential Care, Dementia Care, Nursing Care, Respite Care, and Palliative Care for 72 residents.
The Home Manager has built The Ashton Care Home to be a caring, family‑oriented environment. She excels at supporting and growing her team to be successful at what they do within their roles, both as professionals and as people. As a Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering an excellent standard of care to our residents and promoting the values and ethos of our home.
What You’ll Do
* Assist residents with daily routines, supporting dressing, activity, and independence.
* Follow each resident’s personalised care plan, providing hands‑on help and thoughtful attention.
* Monitor health and communicate concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager, and help with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals.
* Uphold dignity and respect for each resident, ensuring they feel valued in every interaction.
* Encourage social interactions among residents and staff to create a warm and welcoming environment.
* Work with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces, and respond quickly to emergencies or call bells.
* Assist residents who need extra help with eating and drinking, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
* Bring joy to residents’ lives, making them smile every day.
* Work alternate weekends.
About You
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred but not essential.
* Experience: Ideally at least 6 months as a Care Assistant, but we welcome those who are new to the sector with a passion for care and pocess transferable skills.
* Passion: Genuine interest in caring for the elderly and commitment to delivering excellent service.
* Values: Integrity, respect, and a strong sense of teamwork in everything you do.
