EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to ensure a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery: Daily supervision of a team of paint shop operatives, providing guidance on all operations including blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs.
2. Coaching and Development: Mentoring staff to develop skills, estimating painting times and costs, and evaluating manufacturing methods with safety and quality standards in mind.
3. Planning and Quality Control: Planning workspace utilization, conducting quality checks before and after jobs, and minimizing rework.
4. Production and Reporting: Servicing the Fitting Shop, meeting production targets, and reporting progress to the Production Manager.
5. Process Improvement: Monitoring performance, establishing production standards, and streamlining purchasing to reduce costs.
6. Performance Management: Applying performance systems, setting KPIs, supporting professional development, and managing staff performance.
7. Financial and Resource Management: Ensuring operational efficiency, contributing to financial targets, and seeking innovative solutions.
8. People Management: Providing leadership, fostering teamwork, and promoting continuous improvement.
9. General Management: Promoting equality, adhering to Health & Safety policies, overseeing staff performance, and participating in recruitment and disciplinary procedures.
10. Compliance and Company Values: Upholding core values, ensuring legal health and safety compliance, and performing duties aligned with organizational objectives.
Person Specification:
Essential: Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience, on-the-job heavy machinery painting experience, leadership skills, strong communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, and computer proficiency.
Desirable: Experience managing a Paint Shop, stakeholder advising, management/leadership qualifications, and flexibility to work hours as needed.
